Cost of the Lark Health App

COSTS TO CONSUMERS: DIABETES MANAGEMENT | HYPERTENSION MANAGEMENT | HYPERLIPIDEMIA | PREDIABETES | WEIGHT-LOSS | SMOKING CESSATION | ASTHMA/COPD

The cost of the Lark app is free to consumers who choose the basic version in the app store. However, Lark’s health coaching + connected device programs combine hardware, software, and coaching as a currently a covered benefit for over 20 million consumers in the United States.

COSTS

Lark is free to consumers as a covered benefit. There is a consumer self-pay version of the Lark app in the App Store for both Android and iOS which is $19.95 per month for the advanced nutrition and coaching features, but not for the clinical design, coaching, or hardware.

CONCLUSIONS

The Lark App is a series of clinical programs that are A.I and health-coach-based and derived from clinical science. They are advanced and not comparable to "free" fitness or weight loss apps on the App Stores. Lark is a reimbursed preventive and health management benefit for many consumers. The cost of the Lark App is therefore determined by one's insurance coverage and range of chronic conditions or health concerns.

ADDITIONALLY

Genetic specific health coaching is not yet reimbursed by health plans as it is too new to have established efficacy. The cost of the Lark app can be driven by a consumer's willingness to pay OOP (out of pocket) for an additional layer of genetic-specific disease or wellness coaching, in partnership with 23andMe. The additional costs range from $15.95 per month to $39.95 per month for consumers. Therefore the cost of the Lark app can be driven by this additional layer.

MEDICARE DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM

CMS does not yet broadly cover Digital Diabetes Prevention Programs, but Lark is covered by many Medicare Advantage and Commercial plans.
