Is Lark Covered by Insurance?
The cost of the Lark health coaching platform is dependent on one's insurance covered. Lark is currently a covered insurance benefit for 43 million consumers in the United States under a variety of health plans if you have or are likely to have prediabetes, the precursor to Type 2 Diabetes.
What Version of Lark Insurance Cover?
Lark is free to consumers as a covered benefit if they are at risk for Type 2 Diabetes. Starting in 2015 and 2016, various Anthem, Blues, and employer-based health plans started covering diabetes prevention programs including Lark to help offset the high costs of Type 2 Diabetes once developed.
If your insurance / health plan does not cover Lark's preventive benefit, then there is a self-pay version of the Lark app in the App Store for both Android and iOS which is $19.95 per month for the advanced nutrition, activity, stress, and sleep coaching features. The consumer self-pay cost for the Lark App does not include the cost of the connected devices that are sponsored by and bundled with the Lark Coach as part of one's health benefits. However, most consumers choose to do a benefits check to determine whether they are one of the 43 million consumers in 18 U.S States who receive Lark as a covered insurance benefit.
What Devices does Insurance Cover?
The preventive insurance benefit covers a digital scale that connects directly to your Lark Coaching App, as well as a Fitbit activity watch. In addition to receiving those devices as part of the program, you can connect any existing health devices you have through HealthKit or Google Fit.
